Background of PRA023-hIgG1

TL1A, also known as TNFSF15, is a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) family. It is expressed by monocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells (DCs), synovial fibroblasts, and endothelial cells in response to stimulation by cytokines, immune complexes, and microorganisms. PRA023 is an IgG1 humanized monoclonal antibody designed to block tumor necrosis factor-like ligand 1A (TL1A). It binds both soluble and membrane-associated human TL1A with high affinity and specificity. PRA023 holds significant potential for improving outcomes in patients with moderate-to-severe inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) who are predisposed to increased TL1A expression.
