Background of AntiCLDN6-hIgG1

Claudin-6 (CLDN6) is a member of the claudin family, which plays a crucial role in the formation and maintenance of tight junctions (TJs) in epithelial and endothelial cells. These tight junctions are essential for the barrier function of tissues, controlling the passage of molecules and ions through the space between cells. CLDN6, like other claudins, is involved in various cellular processes, including cell adhesion, polarity, and differentiation. Its expression and function have been studied in the context of development, normal tissue function, and disease, particularly cancer.
