Background of EU103-hIgG4-S228P

VSIG4 is a type I transmembrane protein with a molecular weight of approximately 45 kDa. It consists of an extracellular domain containing a V-type and a C2-type immunoglobulin domain, a transmembrane domain, and a cytoplasmic domain. The gene is located on the X chromosome and is predominantly expressed in tissue-resident macrophages, including those found in the thymus, liver, adipose tissue, and alveoli. EU103 is a humanized monoclonal antibody targeting V-set and immunoglobulin domain-containing protein 4 (VSIG4), primarily associated with the modulation of tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) in the cancer microenvironment.

References

  1. Combination therapy with anti-VSIG4 and anti-PD-L1 suppress growth of tumor via conditioning of tumor microenvironment
  2. Targeting VSIG4, a novel macrophage checkpoint, repolarizes suppressive macrophages which induces an inflammatory response in primary cell in vitro assays and fresh human tumor cultures
