Background of Isatuximab

Isatuximab, previously known as SAR650984, is a monoclonal antibody produced from a Chinese hamster ovary cell line. It is a type of humanized IgG1 antibody that contains two identical immunoglobulin kappa light chains and two identical immunoglobulin gamma heavy chains. This antibody is cytolytic and specifically targets CD38, a glycoprotein that is present on the surface of certain immune cells and often overexpressed in malignant plasma cells associated with multiple myeloma.
