Background of U31784-hIgG1

Fibroblast Growth Factor Receptor 4 (FGFR4) is the fourth member of the FGF tyrosine kinase receptor family, which regulates cellular pathways involved in proliferation, differentiation, and survival. Fibroblast Growth Factor 19 (FGF19), a natural ligand for FGFR4, exhibits unique specificity for this receptor and plays a crucial role in regulating bile acid synthesis and hepatocyte proliferation in the normal liver. U3-1784 is a fully human IgG1 monoclonal antibody and an antagonist to the FGF19 ligand. It selectively targets FGFR4 without binding to FGFR1, FGFR2, or FGFR3, making it a promising therapeutic agent for conditions driven by the FGF19/FGFR4 pathway.
